A. SUMMARY:
Primary function is to fuel Premium Growth for the Agency. This growth is focused towards meeting or exceeding agency and individual goals. Associate should regularly meet established sales and premium growth goals. Associate should also build, in coordination with their assigned Support Staff, relationships with clients for in order to retain premium within the Associates assigned book. Associate should diligently identify and solicit sales prospects from a comprehensive Sales Network they develop which provides a steady source of new premium coming in to the agency. The Associate upholds the agency's reputation, always exemplifying a professional manner of conducting business in dealings with clients, staff and our carriers.
B. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Become proficient in Sales aspects of Personal Lines, Commercial and Financial products.
- Makes the sale and collect necessary premiums, arrange for binders, certificates, etc. as needed and follow the sale through until the policy is issued and all new business underwriting issues that may arise have been addressed.
- Set up a 1 month follow for all new business written. It is proven this is one key way to help with long term retention.
- Develop annual new premium production goals with Sales Manager or Managing Agent. This is also to include retention goals for the Associates assigned book.
- Develop prospects through an organized, comprehensive Sales referral network, referrals from present accounts, target-marketing leads and through community affairs, affiliations, and other contacts.
- Develop all information and recommendations for prospective accounts, present proposals and adhere to agency policies and procedures for writing a new account.
- Responsible for establishing a servicing procedure when necessary for designated accounts.
- To perform periodic service calls on designated accounts and to provide service assistance as needed when support staff support are out or during periods of extremely high service calls (i.e., after a major weather event, office days following a Holiday, etc.)
- To perform special projects at management's request.
- Follow up with sales prospects from various sources provided by the agency such as internet and website referrals along with Agency advertising referrals
- Solicit referrals from existing agency accounts new business written. GTRL (Get The Referred Lead)
- Build an extensive X-date data base for business not written and cancelled accounts and follow-up with them at next expiration.
- Maintain necessary licenses and continuing education required for license renewal.
- Coordinate closely and regularly with Support Staff regarding service of existing accounts.
- Maintain a concern for timeliness, completeness, clarity and conciseness when interacting with customers, agency personnel and carriers to minimize potential for errors and omissions claims.
C. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support and encourage all office personnel as well as clients of other Associate Agents.
- Achieve a balance in production to meet agency "mix of business" goals.
D. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be aggressive/assertive, a self-starter with the ability to influence others. Should have demonstrated effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communications.
A college degree or equivalent Sales experience is desirable and must have all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance.
Required to work diligently towards special insurance designations (i.e.CISR, CAC) and meet continuing education requirements to maintain designation(s).
Expected to meet the monthly new business premium goals through items outlined in essential functions.

This position works as team with an assigned Sales associate with the goal of growing new and maintaining current premium within their assigned book of business. B. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follows and adheres to Agency-Specific Required Processes, using Job-Aid book or One-Sheets as needed, to complete tasks.
- Assists clients with making coverage changes and completes all service requests for all carriers for existing clients in a timely manner, following up to ensure requests have been completed by the carrier.
- Seeks out cross-sell and up-sell opportunities and provides quotes to existing clients.
- Verifies coverage status and processes payments as appropriate. Provides paid receipt.
- Informs clients of policy changes, exclusions of coverage and insurance coverage needs.
- Provides rewrite/re-market proposals as necessary to save existing business.
- Stays up to date with state and carrier guidelines, quoting platforms, agency standards and technology.
- Generates documents and produces correspondence to satisfy client service requests as needed.
- Details all conversations and correspondence with clients in the Agency Management System.
- Prepares proof of insurance and certificates of insurance as needed.
- Alerts appropriately licensed team members of Life Insurance Cross-Sell opportunities.
- Assists clients as needed in submitting claims and follows up on claims status to keep insureds informed and to work toward a positive experience during the settlement of claims.
- Maintains orderly electronic files (i.e., QQ, Doc Vault, etc.) and information, following agency standards.
